Perovskia Blue Spire 2L
Perovskia 'Blue Spire' – Hardy Russian Sage – 2L Pot
Perovskia 'Blue Spire' is a stunning and exceptionally long-flowering hardy perennial, prized for its airy spikes of lavender-blue flowers and aromatic silvery-grey foliage. Flowering from mid-summer well into autumn, it provides months of colour while attracting bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators to the garden.
Reaching approximately 100–120 cm in height with a spread of 60–90 cm, this elegant perennial forms an upright, bushy habit that is perfect for cottage gardens, gravel gardens, prairie-style planting and mixed sunny borders. Its silvery foliage provides attractive contrast throughout the growing season and complements a wide range of flowering perennials.
The delicate lavender-blue flower spikes are produced in abundance above the fragrant foliage, creating a soft, hazy display that adds height, texture and movement to the garden. Its long flowering season makes it an excellent choice for extending colour into late summer and autumn.
This hardy perennial thrives in full sun and prefers well-drained soil. Once established, it is highly drought tolerant, easy to maintain and returns reliably year after year, making it an excellent choice for low-maintenance gardens.
Flowering Period
July: Elegant flower spikes begin to emerge above the silvery foliage.
July – September: Peak flowering with masses of lavender-blue blooms attracting bees and butterflies.
September – October: Continues flowering into autumn, providing valuable late-season colour and pollinator interest.
With its fragrant silvery foliage, graceful lavender-blue flowers and exceptional drought tolerance, Perovskia 'Blue Spire' is a superb hardy perennial for adding colour, structure and wildlife interest to sunny gardens.
