Hydrangea paniculata ‘Limelight’ – Panicle Hydrangea
Hydrangea paniculata ‘Limelight’ is a bold and highly popular deciduous shrub, prized for its large cone-shaped flower heads that open a fresh lime-green before softening to creamy white and later taking on blush pink tones. Flowering from mid-summer into autumn, it provides outstanding seasonal colour and structure when many other shrubs are fading.
Reaching around 1.5–2.5 metres in height with a spread of 1.5–2 metres, this vigorous shrub forms a strong upright framework with sturdy stems that hold the large blooms well. Its fresh green foliage creates a handsome backdrop through spring and summer before falling in autumn.
The impressive flower panicles appear in abundance from summer onwards and are excellent for adding impact to borders, mixed shrub beds, or as a feature plant. The blooms also dry well on the plant, extending interest deep into autumn and winter. Hydrangea ‘Limelight’ works beautifully in both traditional and contemporary garden styles.
